Year 1 Primary Care positions
For our inaugural year (2025-2026), we are excited to have 2 positions available for the Year 1 Primary Care Residency program.
how to apply
All pharmacy practice residency programs in Canada have moved to a single on-line application process administered by the Canadian Society of Healthcare-Systems Pharmacy (CSHP) Pharmacy Residency Matching Service (PRAMS).
All information provided in the application and references will be reviewed and considered in the selection process. Applicants will be matched with the residency programs via PRAMS. All applicants must be registered with the PRAMS matching service in order to be selected.
Please note that the Primary Care Residency program is distinct from the LMPS Year 1 Inpatient Residency program. To be considered for the Primary Care Residency program, applicants must apply for this program separately on PRAMS, and interviews will also be conducted separately from the Inpatient Residency program.
The PRAMS portal is currently closed for applications for the 2025-26 year. Check back in mid-August for the application window to open for subsequent intakes!
Required credentials and qualifications
We are committed to equity, which to us means examination of our processes for unconscious bias and active work towards closing the opportunity gap caused by historical and contemporary systems of injustice and oppression. We acknowledge that prospective applicants come from all walks of life, and believe in the strengths of a diverse workforce.
We encourage applications from under-represented groups, including but not limited to those identifying as women, trans or non-binary, Black, racialized, Indigenous, LGBQ2S+, and persons with disabilities. International and out-of-province applicants that are eligible for registration and licensure with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia are also welcome and encouraged to apply. Applicants with interruptions in their education or career paths (such as for parental leave) will be given fair consideration in the selection process.
Applicants are required to be able to meet the requirements for registration and licensure as a Full Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia, and to maintain this in good standing for the duration of the residency. All exams required for licensure must be completed prior to the start of the residency program.
All successful applicants to the LMPS Year 1 Primary Care Residency program must provide evidence of membership with CSHP and maintain their active membership throughout the course of the residency year.
